There is a tremendous move of God among His Jewish People in these last days.  God has brought an unprecedented revival to the Jewish People throughout the world, but He has only just begun.  Already the need for leaders in Messianic Jewish congregations is pressing and increasing.  In the former Soviet Union there is a huge awakening and revival -- thousands of Jewish People are coming to faith in their Messiah.   These new believers are desperately in need of training and discipling after decades of communist oppression.  There is a crying need for workers for that harvest, as well as workers for the worldwide harvest.  Meanwhile, in the Messianic movement in North America, a new generation of Messianic youth is emerging and looking to be trained and equipped, and to solidify their identity as Messianic Jews.  For all of this, sound Biblical and distinctly Messianic Jewish training is desperately needed.

Messiah Biblical Institute has been been providing such training since 1984.  Most recently under the authority of Tikkun Ministries and led by its Chancellor Dr. Daniel C. Juster, we are equipping both the current Messianic Jewish leadership as well as the next generation of leaders.  We offer sound academic training that builds faith and embraces discipleship from a truly Messianic Jewish point of view.  Gentiles and Jews can both drink from the rich streams of Jewish-rooted theology.

We offer a variety of degrees -- an Associate of Theology, a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Ministry (especially geared toward those currently in full-time ministry, with a focus on practical training), a Master of Theological Studies (requiring a thesis), and a Doctor of Ministry (including course work, supervised internships, individualized mentoring, and a doctoral dissertation).

We also offer a variety of means of instruction to meet the needs of often-overloaded lifestyles:

  • Full-time, on-campus instruction, with morning and evening classes in the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Intensive one week courses on-campus, where in one six evening stretch combined with a few weeks of extended personal study, you can earn 3 credits at either the graduate or undergraduate level.
  • Taped class courses taught by teachers such as Mike Brown, Dan Juster, Keith Intrater, and Andrew Shishkoff.
  • Directed study courses conducted online through e-mail and internet.

In particular, for the Master of Ministry, we will consider giving life experience credits to students who have been involved in doing the work of ministry.  We accept credits for transfer from other educational institutions (subject to review), and our courses are accepted by certain other schools in like fashion.  Our courses are also recognized as part of the Sm'cha (Ordination) program of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregation.

Our tuition is comparatively low -- $60 per undergraduate credit, and $70 per graduate credit (Books are extra, and video tapes are $11.00 each).  Many of our residential students live in the Washington D.C. area and can enjoy the rich congregational life available here.

Our faculty is diverse and includes many well-known Messinic Jewish scholars and leaders with degrees from such institutions as Wheaton College, McCormack Seminary, Michigan State University, George Washington University, Pontifical Biblical Institute, University of Maryland, Harvard University, Baltimore Hebrew University, New York University, and Duke University.

Our campus is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, just 40 minutes from Washington, D.C.
